Advantages of touchscreen Laptops
What are touchscreen laptops? How do they differ from traditional laptop computers? How do they stack up to their competitors? These are just some of the questions you'll want answered before deciding which brand or model to buy. Let's take a look at the latest and greatest of the bunch: Lenovo Chromebook and HP EliteBook Viazarine.
Both touchscreen laptops offer a remarkable combination of flexibility and convenience that ordinary laptops simply cannot match. Also called hybrid laptops, touchscreen-capable laptops offer you the chance to do a myriad of tasks on the small screen just as you would on a smartphone or even tablet, but from a bigger screen. You can browse the web, watch videos, chat with friends, reply to emails, search the web, play games, etc... on the road, at work, or at home. You can also do almost all of these tasks while you're asleep, so a fully integrated touchscreen is an advantage in many ways.
Touchscreens come with either a built-in or external (or hybrid) battery life, and both are fantastic. The built-in battery lasts around five hours on a single charge, though as you increase the load on the device, the battery life gets shorter. However, the USB Type-C port on most of today's touchscreen laptops allows power from the computer to be supplied by other sources if your main source of power is down. In short, this port allows the computer to run even if your laptop battery is dead.
On the downside, touchscreen laptops are usually heavier and bulkier than regular laptops. As a result, the portability of the device may be limited by the weight of the device and how solid it is. Furthermore, they tend to perform less quickly than the regular type of computers. However, the speed increase they enjoy is well worth the extra weight, though if you are going to be doing heavy duty video editing or other intensive tasks, you will find that the difference between these models and the regular types is not noticeable.
Another advantage of touchscreen laptops is their wide variety of ports. Unlike regular laptops, they have several USB ports, FireWire ports, HDMI ports, full-sized USB 2.0 ports, and sometimes even wireless card ports, giving you more freedom of movement than you would get with a regular keyboard and mouse combination. They can connect to microphones, record videos, and even to a computer. With a regular keyboard and mouse, the user is restricted to the mouse, which has a very limited range of motion and can become fatigued quickly. This is not the case with the Widescreen laptops.
Touchscreen laptops also have built-in speakers, which allow you to take better advantage of your media consumption while you are away from your desk top PC. These audio speakers are generally classified as surround sound capable, which means that they will play audio in a more realistic way than regular speakers would be. If you are into music or videos, this is definitely a plus.
The final advantage of a touchscreen laptops is that they actually use a different kind of hardware than a regular laptop. When you compare regular laptops with touchscreen laptops, you will note that the former has a touch screen that is made up of special film coating that reacts to your touch in such a way that it causes the image to appear on the screen. On the other hand, the latter does not have this type of special film coating. As a result, it appears much like a regular keyboard. Since the regular laptop has a standard graphics chip, you do not need to purchase a separate graphics chip for the touchscreen feature.
All in all, touchscreen laptops are great for people who are always doing something on their computers and do not want to tire them out. With their innovative features, these laptops are also quite attractive to look at. But, do not forget that this type of laptops is quite expensive. Regular laptops and even cheap ones do not usually have this advanced technology in them. So, if you really need a gadget that will never let you down when you are working on it, do not settle for anything less. If you cannot afford to purchase a full fledged touchscreen laptop, then just look for sleek designs with high display resolutions and do not forget to check out the prices of some of the latest and modern gadgets available in the market today.
